The data which Agari uses to present views of customer domain authentication success is sent to us from DMARC-aware receivers such as Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, Comcast, LinkedIn, Cisco, and others.
Occasionally these entities can encounter some difficulties of their own, and they miss (or vastly underreport) a day or more of traffic data. When you are reviewing statistics in Agari's Data Explorer views, this lack of traffic shows up as an unexpectedly small number in the column for a particular provider.
Agari does have internal alerting mechanisms that let us know when a data provider has missed a significant amount of reporting for a prior day, and we do contact that provider to alert them to the problem in case they did not already know of it.
Note
The reporting timeframe for DMARC data varies per provider. A significant portion of the prior day's traffic is not reported to DMARC reporting targets until it is relatively late the following day.
